Music and Words

Sometimes you need Music to get you amped for the training.

And sometimes you need Words. Guess which book/movie this plagiarised piece is from?

Man, I see in Green Beret Month the strongest and smartest men who've ever
lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire
generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising
has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we
don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We
have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our
Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe
that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we
won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed
off.

I'm almost half way through GB month, and shedding off the winter excess at a steady rate. Body is adapting well to the gym and weights stress. My first run and bike weekend nearly smoked me. I added an extra 3kg's into my backpack for my bike ride. As I lose a kilogram, so I will remove a weight from the backpack. I've heard it's like being shot out of a cannon when you eventually take the backpack off.

The Pyramid is also introduced this week.

You move from one side of the Pyramid to the other. At level one you do 1 pullup, 2 pushups, 3 situps. Then you move to level two and multiply the sets by 2, i.e. 2 pullup, 4 pushups, 6 situps. So, at the top of the pyramid (for those mathematician's out there), you'll be doing 6 pullup, 12 pushups, 18 situps. Sounds doable in theory, in practise?

  1. The line is from Fight Club when Tyler Durden aka Brad Pitt motivates his fighting boys. A great way to stir up the troops and channel their abundant energies into something interesting. Gives me goosies every time I hear it. Also I want a six pack like Brad in that movie (without having to give up chocolate!)
